Headquartered in Laurel, Mississippi, Chateau renders programs and services to qualified beneficiaries of the elderly & disabled (E&D) and intellectual disability & developmentally disabled (ID/DD) Medicaid waiver programs within the state of Mississippi. Our services afford participants improved quality of living while maintaining dignity; thereby reducing their likelihood of entering nursing homes and other long-term care facilities.

Chateau Personal Care Services and Chateau Respite Care provide in-home personal assistance services across 19 counties in the state of Mississippi. In addition to what we provide, we refer our clients to many local organizations who offer other services they may need or are qualified for.

Meet Our Owners

Shundra Walker and Michellda Bradshaw both contribute their success to their friendship with each other, support from family, and most importantly their faith in God. Read on to learn more about their experiences and qualifications.

Shundra Walker, Co-Owner

Ms. Walker stands at the forefront of Chateau Adult Day Center, Chateau Personal Care Services, and Chateau Respite. Her business ventures offer quality senior care to the elderly and people with disabilities.


She served as the Outreach Community Health Educator Manager for approximately 12 years where she managed the Mississippi outreach core intervention program for breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer. While serving in this capacity, she gained experience with working directly with a group of seniors to conduct and design programs for cancer research, outreach, and education.


Ms. Walker served as the Southern Regional Chair with the Mississippi Comprehensive Cancer Control (MP3C) for five years. In 2015, she was the recipient of the Spirit of Giving Award from MP3C.


Among Ms. Walker’s skills and qualifications are being a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) in addition to experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating public health promotion programs. She received Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Master of Public Health degrees from The University of Southern Mississippi. Additionally, she is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Michellda Bradshaw, Co-Owner

Ms. Bradshaw holds a Master of Science Degree in Athletic Administration with a concentration in Sports Management from Eastern Michigan University; an Educational Specialist Degree in Technology Management and Administration from Nova Southeastern University; and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Delta State University. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.


Aside from her educational background, Ms. Bradshaw possesses an AAA (Educational Specialist) teacher certification in Business Education and Physical Education for the states of Mississippi and Arkansas, in which she taught for four years in the public education system. Additionally, she has worked with the Mississippi State Department of Health in the role of Public Health Educator.


With experience in implementing community-based projects in below poverty stricken areas in the Mississippi Delta, Ms. Bradshaw assisted in the reduction of risk-factors associated with chronic diseases. This experience afforded her an opportunity to utilize research and statistical knowledge to collect and analyze relevant data to evaluate intervention strategies.
